The annual Path Easter Bake Off took place yesterday, and much like its BBC namesake we had quite a competitive group battling to be crowned this years star baker.
As creative directors, and avid consumers of baked goods, Tim and Kev decided they were best suited to judge the sweet offerings hastily created the previous evening. Armed with a scoreboard and a freakishly disconcerting mask of Mary Berry, they descended on the cakes.
From bacon and salted caramel cupcakes and carrot cake, to an April fools ‘car sponge’ entry (which, unsurprisingly, scored low on taste), the Path team delivered quite the spread – and a difficult decision for the judges.
After heated discussions, and the need to do multiple tastings to ‘make sure’, the eventual winner was Ben with his Simnel cake, followed by Libby’s bacon and egg cupcakes and Sean’s (wife’s) carrot cake. Congrats to everyone who took part!
We’d like to take the opportunity to wish you all a happy Easter, and all the best for the holidays!
