It is with great pleasure that we announce that our cutting-edge solution for Cornerstone, the UK’s biggest male grooming subscription service, received a silver bullet last night at the DBA Design Effectiveness Awards 2018 in London.
Championing the transformative power of design, the Design Business Association (DBA) is a powerful representative body focused on promoting design’s strategic and economic value to business. Their prestigious design effectiveness awards are one of the most sought out accolades in the industry as they build universal confidence in design investment and enable thriving partnerships between those commissioning design and the agencies delivering it.
Our brief was to disrupt the male grooming category with an innovative subscription service proposition. Design for the brand identity needed to be strong, simple and meaningful, allowing the the quality of Cornerstone’s products to shine through.
Our creative team took the utmost care and attention in considering each element of Cornerstone’s shaving experience - From establishing guidelines that informed the look and feel of Cornerstone’s website to the branded kraftboard cleverly engineered to accommodate all 120 product combinations of Cornerstone’s offering to the unique, cast aluminium alloy handle of the razor, specifically designed to stand upright and protect against corrosion.
The results speak for themselves. With +170K subscribers, which is nearly 6x the original target, Cornerstone is now the biggest subscription-only male grooming brand in the UK. This fantastic success has prompted expansion of the product range into skincare, dental care and wellbeing, fulfilling the brand’s ambition to own the bathroom and be the ‘Cornerstone of your day.”
This is Path’s third DBA Design Effectiveness Award. Previous wins include a gold bullet for Naked Noodle and a silver bullet for Ragu.
