Mattel celebrates the 2018 International Women’s day by inspiring young generation with accomplished female role models by its Shero and Inspiring Women™ series. 17 baby dolls will be released soon honouring the renowned and accomplished modern-day role models as well as the iconic historical figures such as fine artist, activist Frida Kahlo, aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart and NASA mathematician and physicist Katherine Johnson.

Creative Equals draws attention to the imbalance of gender currently present in the creative industries by changing various world-famous male logos to unapologetically female versions. Ali Hanan, founder of Creative Equals wants us to imagine a world beyond not-so-silently masculine.

Pink Beer for equality?

Brewdog recently released the ‘Pink Ale’, a move to stand for diversity and the narrowing the gender pay gap. The brand bottled their Punk IPA ale in a pink package and decided to donate 20% of the sales over the 4 weeks in March. Despite the brand’s intentions, the stunt has been negatively received by many who believe it is, in fact, perpetuating the stereotypes it claims to be against.
