From The Lightbox Collection to Co-op’s alcohol rebrand, from Time’s June cover to Project Milestone here’s some things that made us say “That’s interesting” in the studio this week.

 

Moments, not milestones

Diamond manufacturer DeBeers has recently revealed its new Lightbox Jewellery Collection, an innovative lab-grown diamond initiative, due to be released in September. The range, which will offer entirely man-made stones, is positioned as a high-quality and affordable jewellery option, and will target young consumers.

Newer. Bolder.

London-based design agency Robot Food has collaborated with grocery retailer Co-op to revive its beer, cider and spirits range. The redesign leverages contemporary design cues to create a strong shelf impact and sets the bar high for the own-label products category.

The Drone Age.

Time has just joined forces with Intel’s Drone Light Show team to create its latest magazine cover. The June edition’s cover captures 958 drones in flight: the impressive show was the biggest drone gathering to date in the U.S.

Tomorrow’s Architecture.

The Netherlands will soon be the first country in the world to host entirely 3D printed habitable houses. ‘Project Milestone’ is set to be based in Eindhoven, where it will revolutionise the industry by reducing the amount of construction materials as well as provide a tangible solution to the shortage of bricklayers.
