That’s Interesting Christmas Special 21.12.18

From Benefit’s Jingle Brow Express that gives back to KFC’s chicken-scented logs,  here are some things that made us say “That’s interesting” in the studio this week.

Gifts of Wonder

International cosmetics brand Estée Lauder is showcasing a tech-led Christmas activation campaign “Gifts of Wonder” in Hong Kong. Nutcracker inspired Estée Wonderland is enhanced by Quantum Human technology, which allows the customer to be the hero of their own fairy tale by scanning themselves with a 360° camera. The scanned image then becomes an avatar, carefully placed in a short VR winter movie with the festive background.

Disconnect to reconnect

Known for its witty campaigns, Ikea celebrates the festive season by encouraging families to connect with each other by switching off all social media. The Swedish retailer has created a new board game called ‘Familiarised’ that tests the family members’ knowledge about each other with questions such as their favourite band or who influenced their grandmother’s childhood the most.
